Devon, a spectacular corner located in the south west of England, offers breathtakingly beautiful views of sea, woodlands, rural areas, and the rugged gems of Dartmoor. From one window of our home, I see heather and daffodils. From another window, I see the harbour and open sea. The setting is perfect for a retired, rambling musician, close to transportation to London yet quiet enough for hours for practising, walking, reading, and writing.

In 2008, after many years working as a teacher, head teacher and university professor, I retired to Devon to pursue some life-long interests. These include reading, playing piano and viola, rehearsing chamber and orchestral music. I added rambling as a retirement past time and enjoy many hours meandering along the coastal path of South West England, tramping over the open areas and tors of Dartmoor, and wandering the lovely rural lanes and pathways that crisscross the area.
